Customers appreciate the crispiness of the fish and the quality of the fries, though some mention that the fries could be improved. The restaurant’s outdoor seating and friendly, welcoming staff contribute to a positive atmosphere. Overall, Perky's is regarded as a reliable and satisfying stop for classic fish and chips near Awenda Provincial Park, with a loyal following eager for each new season.
They're open for the 2025 season as of May 9th. The best fish & chips around, no doubt. Don't believe anyone else. Perky's has the most crisp fish and beautiful fries.
Their halibut and pickerel fish and chips can’t be beat Good size portions, I also like how you can substitute salad for fries, but Its not fish and chips and you forgo the fries!! Remember to bring cash, cuz it’s cash only. ...
Delicious fish and chips. They have four options for the fish. Fries could have been tastier but overall I liked it. They don’t add beer to their batter in case you don’t want to have alcohol in your food. The dining area is outdoor. They have a portable washroom. They only accept cash but have an ATM on site which charges fee as usual. Overall, if you are heading to Awenda Provincial Park, this place is a great stop. They also have hotdogs and burger.
Great food great atmosphere great service. The ladies operating the place were extremely friendly. The halibut was great.
The poutine here is awesome and consistently delicious. There is a mix of curds and shredded cheese and the gravy lasts until the last bite! I tried many food trucks in the area and Perky's was my go-to all season. The portion is just enough to leave you feeling satisfied but not overly full, it is the perfect amount. Can't wait until next season!
I never been before first time there in tiny Ontario so awesome delicious nice people service people see my baby girl. 4 women work say aww so cute baby to my baby
We got fish and chips on the way home from a camping trip and everything was delicious. Cool place, lots of outdoor seating. Looks like parking could be tight at peak periods. No fault of the owners, but the neighbour has set up a speaker facing some of the picnic tables. Ignore that noise and you'll be fine. I hope the neighbour knows how petty and laughable that stunt is. Will stop by again next season because the food is delicious and to support a small business with a nasty neighbour.
Great little hidden gem. It's our staple stop for fish and chips every Friday, when going to the cottage. They have a great selection of foods from chicken fingers, to hamburgers to onion rings and of course, great battered fish. Popular joint. Kids love it too.
